For its 2026 installment, MCEB will take place in Heraklion, Crete. The local organization will be managed by the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (https://www.ics.forth.gr/) in collaboration with the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (https://www.hcmr.gr/en/) on whose premises the conference will physically take place. 

Conference participants will stay at the nearby Astir Beach hotel (https://www.astirbeach.gr). This edition of the meeting will put the emphasis on computational methods in evolutionary genomics. It will focus on recent algorithmic and statistical advances in the comparative analysis of genomic data, but also present significant results in biology obtained with these new techniques. We hope that the conference will provide a rich and broad overview of the current challenges in this research area and establish new perspectives in order to foster future research projects. 

Beyond this year's themes, general concepts, models, methods and algorithms will be presented and discussed, just as in the previous editions of MCEB. As usual, the meeting will bring together researchers originating from various disciplines: mathematics, statistics, computer science, phylogenetics, population genetics, molecular epidemiology, biodiversity and macroevolution... Keynote speakers will introduce a field of research and discuss their own work in this field. Afternoon will be for short presentations and posters, with plenty of time for discussions. We will stop early every day, thus leaving time for other activities.

Single Room:         EUR 660

Double Room:       EUR 560 (you are resonsible for indicating whome you will be sharing the room with to Alexis via email stamatak at ics dot forth dot gr)

Local Participants: EUR 140 (researchers living in or around Heraklion) 

Registration fees for non-local participants include all hotel costs, all dinners, lunches, coffee breaks and the excursion. 

Registration fees for local participants exclude hotel costs and dinners at the hotel.
